About 2,000 animals from about 400 different species currently comprise the animal collection at the National Zoo and the Zoo's Conservation and Research Center (CRC) in Virginia. About one-fifth of the species are endangered or threatened. Most species are on exhibit at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. A few are found only at the CRC, which is not open to the public. Visit our website: www.fonz.org or www.nationalzoo.si.edu.
In our session, you will learn about the causes of Global Climate Change, the impact on animals and hear about projects you can start or actions you can take. In addition, we will discuss action research projects for classes. You can make a difference!
